Questions without notice, I call... you!
Say hello to Point of Order, Speaker! The improv game of standing & sessional orders for Australian political nerds across the country, and overseas.
This game was created in an afternoon over a year ago, but never saw the light of day. It seemed too niche to be worthwhile, and work had just begun on CYBERCRACK: Soy Runners, so I set it aside.
That was until I met someone who works as a parliamentary staffer who found the idea hilarious. That was all the encouragement I needed, and so now you too can roleplay a session of everyone's favourite parliamentary session, Question Time, with your friends!
If you're not familiar with Australian politics, and your jurisdiction lacks an equivalent, Question Time is a 75 minute all-out slugfest where Members of Parliament ask questions of government ministers. They range from "Dorothy Dixers", a chance for a minister to deliver a planned bit of PR and spin, all the way to dire accusations of impropriety and cowardice!
Sometimes a cardboard cut-out of a minister appears. Sometimes members call each other "grubs". If you want an idea of just how whacky Australian politics can get, here's a great summary that barely touches on recent times!
Think you can do better? Want to give it a shot? Try out Point of Order, Speaker! today!
This game is in Early Access! Your purchase helps to support its continued development, and eventual full release.
